First Grade vs Central Coast. 3 – 0
Verity x 2, Raegan x 1
It’s been a hard week for the First Grade squad this week, but the girls went into the game to get a win and keep a clean sheet for Bianca.
You won’t believe it, but two of our goals game from corners, one short and one long corner!! Our short corner was crossed into the middle to find Verity on the spot, to put the ball away. Our second was from a great long corner, kicked in by Kate who again found Verity on the back post ready and waiting to smack the ball into the net. Our third goal came when Gen put in a lovely ball to find Raegan who once again, got herself on the scoreboard. Making a habit of this Raegs but keep it going (must be the boots).
With one round to go, two points separate the top 4. It is going to be a fantastic last round. A big thank you to Emma Gidney, who once again, stepped up to help us out today. Also to Maddie, George, Lily and Zoe, thanks girls.
Thinking of you B xx
WPL 15’s. Sutherland 0 v Mariners 1
Proud to be a part of the Sutherland Football Association was never felt more so this season, than at the match today.
Mariners scoring in the first 5 minutes found the girls in the difficult position of playing catch up. Players took hard hits and kept trying to play good football, passing the ball with precision, fighting hard to close the gap, but with many unsuccessful attempts at goals, this was not to be.
Unfortunately, the win on the field was not ours today, but the Sutherland spectators left the field feeling like our girls were the winners. The team cohesiveness, comradery and never-give-up attitude, showed the supporters why the girls deserve to wear the Sutherland badge with pride. The U15’s should be commended on their outstanding sportsmanship.
With the weekend’s results going our way, the U15 girls are still in a good position to take out the minor premiership next week. Best of luck to the coaches and players!

Goal Scorers : Lucy x 2, Mia x 2, Meagan x 1
We arrived at the game pumped and ready to play. We trained, focused and prepared for the game ahead.
We walked onto the field waiting nervously for the coin toss. The coin flipped in the air and before we knew it we were at the kickoff. We played for less than 15 minutes and then the ball was played to Lucy who shot and scored. GOAL!! We continued playing; starting to get tired we passed it to Meagan who crossed the ball and Lucy was waiting for the shot. GOAL!! We subbed at the 15 minute mark where unfortunately a few minutes after the sub a goal was scored against us. However, Mia added 2 more goals to her season tally before halftime and we went to the break with a comfortable 4-1 lead.
We came back strong in the second half and scored another goal by Meagan. Our defence kept the ball out as much as they could and the goalkeepers made some great saves, when the ball got through.
Great game girls and let’s get fired up for the next game!!!! Akala
